Haven’t posted lately

One thing that’s immensely frustrating is waiting on other people. Right now, I’m waiting for the end of November (yes, I meant that), which I was told that I’d learn whether 11,000 Years would be picked up by Baen. Meanwhile, Walt, who used to edit Ring of Fire Press, and is now of Untreed Reads, really wants me. *sigh*

Also waiting for beta readers on three more novels, the next one I plan to sell, and the two after that.

In the meantime, I’ve been slowly working on a pre-sequel (to a chapter in 11,000 Years that happens two thousand years before that, and what happened to the people who delivered the Revelation.

And writing shorts. After being left beaten and bloody at the writing workshop at Philcon, I’ve made what turned out to be minor revisions to one short that’s very disturbing… and I haven’t had comments on one in that same world. Those two… if I write more, I’ve got a collection of shorts with a working title of “be REALLY GLAD that you can’t back up your mind”.

Then there was a short that I thought was going to be fun, entitled “The Steam-Powered Vampire”. Well, then I started to wonder why a steam-powered vampire would need blood, and it got dark, fast. I need at least one beta read before I submit that one.

In the meantime, happy holidays.
