  1. I’m increasingly inclined to view this as a Trump vanity project, with side orders of diverting resources away from climate monitoring. It’s certainly not obvious that it’s the most cost-effective use of NASA resources.

    1. No. They’ve been trying to get the Senate Launch System into operation since the nineties. And note that Biden’s pushing it as well.

      You want more earth-monitoring? INCREASE NASA’s budget. Say, shift the cost of 2-3 F-35’s from the DoD’s $1.64 TRILLION to NASA’s $30 billion.
